About our shop

Nixons Hardware was started by Branden and Hilary Nixon in 1990 in a small shop at 1-3 Mermond  Place,  Swanage.  The shop soon became too small and they extended into the next door unit. They continued to successfully trade until August 2000 when they retired and sold the business to Derek and Julie Hancock

The Shop continued to thrive under the new owners with many additional lines being added.

At the end of 2008 the Woolworths chain closed, leaving the Swanage store empty.

Seeing this as an exciting opportunity Derek and Julie managed to secure the lease on the Station Road premises and were delighted to open the new store on the 19^th May 2009 under the new name of Nixons Home hardware.  The new store being three times the size of the old one means that extra lines can be stocked giving the customer an even better service
